The Helix Nebula (also known as the "Eye of God") is the remnants of an exploded star, located 700 light years from Earth. The remnant central stellar core, known as a planetary nebula nucleus or PNN, is destined to become a white dwarf star. Image courtesy of Hubble and NASA.
